PJ Harvey did us all a great service with this cutting and incisive commentary on a declining England couched in the form of an avant garde alternative rock album that sold about 15 copies. Thanks PJ, we the music press and a handful of self-styled sixth form feminists love you and your dirty, dangerous music, which has changed the world, at least for people who read Guardian supplements. A career in politics is long overdue.
