Fabio Capello insisted Rooney was in the proper body of thoughts to enjoy in stormy Podgorica in spite of his father's arrest on Thursday in a probe into alleged betting irregularities, but his flash of temper - when he kicked out at Miodrag Dzudovic - suggested or else. England's route to Poland and Ukraine next summer looked to be a easy one particular as goals from Ashley Young and Darren Bent gave them a at ease lead after 31 minutes. But England's closing qualifier, performed out in the hostile environment of Podgorica City Stadium, turned on two accessoire that will have cast a cloud about Capello's delight at reaching an additional significant tournament. Elsad Zverotic gave Montenegro hope with a target with the final kick of the 1st fifty percent - and when Rooney was deservedly shown red by referee Wolfgang Stark, England ended up put below strain they could not survive. @MrTommyOnTour Violent conduct is a red card offence. Kicking someone is violent conduct.

The Montenegro player who Wayne Rooney kicked should’ve gotten a yellow for his theatrics. Both of them should get a yellow.
January 18th, 2012 - 09:26
that was not a red card offence

Anyway, congratulations on qualifying!
January 18th, 2012 - 10:12
Yes, I think our players ARE overpaid! The ‘challenge’ by Wayne Rooney was abysmal. But let’s get a sense of proportion, they’ve qualified! And these days that’s not a forgone conclusion unless you have the host nation. Let’s give the England team our support instead of slagging them off all the time. You never know, it might help their confidence. The first goal by Montenegro was very good, but to concede that second goal was poor and might be due to general poor sport psychology.

England is my favorite team alongside Netherlands. England should learn how to blend their top players as a squad like Netherlands and Spain do.

The young players have some bottle. It’s refreshing to see the likes of Phil Jones carry the ball for once. Just a shame it takes a 19 year old defender to do the collective jobs of our midfielders.
January 18th, 2012 - 17:32
Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlaine, Jack Wilshere, Daniel Sturridge, Joe Hart, Kieran Gibbs, John McEachran, Kyle Walker, Martin Kelly the U21s are better
January 18th, 2012 - 17:35
why did rooney start instead of heskey??
January 18th, 2012 - 17:46
rooney was involved in both goals, nice through balls, shame about the red card
January 18th, 2012 - 18:04
WTF ?
January 18th, 2012 - 18:22
I think Rooney’s sending off was a bit harsh. Maybe a yellow, but I don’t think it was intentional.
January 18th, 2012 - 18:33
the U21s are better
January 18th, 2012 - 18:42
england are so bad its not right
January 18th, 2012 - 18:54
England play so slow its unbelievable. Our players are technically poor and I’m afraid it roots all the way back to grass roots level. Facilities and coach’s are poor.
Anyone else remember getting a right shouting after trying to pass the ball instead of just wellying it up the pitch?

England are only individuals.. they cannot work as a team.
